Seeking Volunteer Coordinator for 2013

El Centro Conviven is currently seeking a volunteer coordinator to begin in 2013. This is an unpaid position and Conviven does not require a minimum donation to volunteer. Located just outside of the Ciudad Oculta, the center offers classes and workshops to area children, most of whom live in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Volunteers at Conviven mostly teach English classes, but also offer music and art classes depending on availability.

Responsibilities as volunteer coordinator:

• In charge of the volunteer email account
• Organize the arrival and orientation of new volunteers
• Oversee the classes that the volunteers teach and act as substitute in the case of an absence
• Help volunteers plan the lessons and curriculum for the semester
• Organize outings with the students and volunteers

Requirements for applicants

• Must speak both English and Spanish comfortably (not necessarily fluently)
• Must be available for 15-20 hours a week for at least 6 months
• Good organizational skills and an eye for detail
